Every Greedy Growers Weather Event: Durations & Mutations

All 7 Greedy Growers weather events with durations, the mutations each one rolls, and which storms are worth camping for profit.

Weather is the engine of Greedy Growers’ risk-reward loop. A clear sky means your trees simply grow; a storm rolling over the map means everything standing can come out the other side worth multiples more. This guide covers all seven weather events, exactly what each one does to your crops, and which skies are worth rearranging your session around.

How Weather Works

Every weather event in Greedy Growers lasts exactly 4 minutes 30 seconds — from a gentle Misty morning to a full Meteor Shower. The timer never varies, so the question is never “how long do I have?” but “what do I do with it?”

During those 4m 30s, mutation rolls happen against two targets at once:

  1. Seeds spawning on the river belt — new seeds can appear already mutated, which makes weather windows the best time to shop the river.
  2. Plants already standing in your plot — growing trees can pick up the active mutation mid-growth, and mutated fruit then sells at the multiplied price.

The key consequence: an empty plot catches nothing. Every second of weather spent staring at bare dirt is value you’ll never get back, so plant before the sky changes, not after. If you can’t wait for nature, weather can also be triggered instantly with Robux — a real option, but one that only makes sense with a plot full of valuable trees to mutate.

Every Weather Event

All seven events, what they roll, and how long they last:

WeatherDurationMutations
Misty4m 30sDewy (2x)
Thunderstorm4m 30sShocked (2.5x), Charged (7.5x)
Sandstorm4m 30sDusty (Unconfirmed)
Blizzard4m 30sFrosted (Unconfirmed)
Acid Rain4m 30sRadioactive (5x)
Rainbow4m 30sGolden (25x)
Meteor Shower4m 30sCosmic (100x)

Two rows deserve a note. Thunderstorm rolls twice — most strikes apply Shocked, with Charged as the rarer outcome of the same event, so a single storm can produce a mixed plot. And the multipliers for Dusty and Frosted are still Unconfirmed; the Sandstorm and Blizzard pages track what the community has verified so far. The full multiplier ladder, including how these stack, lives in the mutation list.

Which Weather Is Worth Camping

Not every sky pays the same. The two that justify stopping everything:

  • Rainbow → Golden (25x). The best frequent event. A Golden fruit on a mid-tier tree is already a serious payday, and Rainbows come around often enough to plan sessions around. The Golden mutation guide breaks down the value math.
  • Meteor Shower → Cosmic (100x). The ceiling of the game. Cosmic on a high-tier fruit is the kind of harvest that funds your next seed tier outright — see the Cosmic guide.

The catch: multipliers apply to base fruit value. Cosmic on a cheap starter crop is pocket change; Cosmic on endgame fruit is retirement money. The deeper you climb the seed ladder, the harder each weather event is worth — run your exact tree through the profit calculator before deciding whether a Robux-triggered storm pays for itself. And keep the lightning risk in mind: the same storm that mutates your fruit can also burn a greedy harvest.

Weather vs Pet Mutations

Weather is only one of Greedy Growers’ two mutation streams — and knowing the difference is what separates a balanced setup from a one-trick plot:

StreamSourceExamples
Weather mutationsSky events (4m 30s windows)Dewy, Shocked, Charged, Radioactive, Golden, Cosmic
Pet mutationsEquipped pet passives (always on)Infested (Roach), Huge (Pig), Slimy (Frog), Scaled (Alligator)

Weather mutations are explosive but scheduled by chance — huge multipliers, but only while an event runs. Pet mutations are small but constant, ticking along in clear weather while you wait for the sky to cooperate. The strongest plots run both: pet passives for baseline value, weather events for spikes. The full side-by-side lives in the mutations category, and the Dog pet — which specifically raises mutation chance during weather — earns a slot in most rotations covered by the best pets guide.
