Every weather event lasts exactly 4 minutes 30 seconds, and during that window the seeds on the river and the plants in your plot can gain mutations worth up to 100x their normal value. Knowing what each weather does — and what to do the second it starts — is one of the biggest skill gaps between casual and serious players.

What to Do When Weather Starts
1. Stop harvesting mid-value, start harvesting in weather
If fruit is near-ripe and the weather is a good one, harvesting during the event gives each fruit its chance to roll the mutation. Harvested-and-sold fruit obviously can’t mutate anymore.
2. Keep your plot full
The mutation surface is every seed and tree you have standing. An empty plot is a wasted Rainbow. Serious players keep valuable trees alive across sessions partly as weather insurance.
3. Shop the river hard

How Weather Choses What to Mutate
During an active event, mutation rolls happen against:
- Seeds spawning on the river belt — they can appear already mutated.
- Seeds and plants in your plot — standing trees can be mutated mid-growth.
A mutated seed becomes a mutated plant, and a mutated plant produces mutated fruit at the multiplied sale price. The chain is long but every link pays: mutated fruit from a mutated tree from a mutated seed is all the same multiplier applied to a bigger base than an unmutated rival.
